When should I start making Christmas cards?

08 Apr.,2024

Christmas is around the corner! And the card traveling time to different countries may vary a lot. I recently bought a lot of Christmas cards to well prepare.

Do you guys think it’s ok to send cards in November to allow them arrive before Christmas? Or sending them in December is more than enough?

Happy December everyone!

I will be the first one to tell you, I am not perfect. I sneak cookies & milk into bed and I have a weakness for gold foil holiday cards. 😍 Sending them, receiving them – they are just like a hug in an envelope.

So last year, after only having a boyfriend for three months, I couldn’t resist printing some cutesy photos to send to our family and friends. Casually leaving them on my kitchen table for him to find out… let’s just say the boyfriend was surprised to say the least.

The thought of “is it too soon” hadn’t even crossed my mind! 😝 But after discussing the reality of our timeline, I was happy to admit I was wrong to print out Christmas Cards after not dating that long. So what did I learn… open communication is key to getting both partners on the same page. There is no set rule of “you must be dating at least a year” before sending a holiday card out… each couple is different. But for those of you that want to open the conversation for the first time, here are…

1. You have both posted a photo of you two together on social media

2. You don’t live together, but have talked about your future as couple

3. You live together or stay over each other’s house often

4. You have had the conversation and both verbally agree you want to send one out

5. You’re married or in a long-term, committed relationship

With the holiday season finally here, I am so excited to reveal my Christmas card with Nick! No questioning whether it’s too soon this time… we checked off at least three of the hints above.
